August 12, 2023 - Full bodied, feels almost semi dry, prunes, candied raspberries, figs, a little nutty, with a bit of minerality.

April 1, 2021 - I've had a few of these of late, and while this showed a bit more promise than the others, I don't see this bottling ever overcoming the vintage. A 2-hour decant helped (frankly, 24 hours would have served the wine better). Unsurprisingly, it is the alcohol which dominates, much more evident than the notes of ripe red berries and herbs. Evident oak. It was a crowd-pleaser, but I continued to struggle with the heat.

December 14, 2020 - Still drinking phenomenally well. Drank with a Dal Forno 1995 Amarone. The 2003 was smoother and lighter. The 1995 was denser and more port like. Both were terrific

April 21, 2020 - A tough year for a wine of this nature. Intense, concentrated and complex.
True to form, the alcohol stood out, coming in waves that overtook the ripe red berry and herbal notes. Evident oak that gives the wine structure but likely won't integrate with more time. Good bones, but not enough to overcome that ever-present heat. -

January 2010 (link)(Romano Dal Forno Amarone della Valpolicella) An impressive offering from a heavyweight winery. On the nose, white and black pepper intermingle with beef blood and dried cherries. On the palate, it's a thick reduction of figs, flowers, cinnamon, coffee, and violets. The Veneto: A Quality Renaissance
