September 27, 2022 - Even with a decant to help it open up this proved quite recalcitrant with Rib Eye and roasted med veg initially...as it was consumed it started to show a lot of the previous characteristics and, with food, a good deal more harmony and complexity. The oak was less intrusive, the fruit darker, the tannins and mid-palate quite thick. I'd happily go here again as a left-field meat match.

Very slight volatility, oak, savoury spice, a little caramel, red cranberry joins the blackberry and earth, a little ginger spice and fruit lozenge with time in the glass. Juicy medium plus intensity acidity, savoury, dark hued fruits (especially blackberry and blackcurrant), textured mid palate grip is floury, the volatility is not so obvious on the palate, long with non-intrusive alcohol warmth. Okay.

August 13, 2021 - Dense fruit mature berries with spices from the frensh oak fermentation. Good balanced medium acid and medium+ tannins palate with a pleasant long finish. The toasted oak sticks out a bit to much like a pleaser wine.
