Community Tasting Notes 7

  • Alex G. Likes this wine:

July 30, 2021 - Ramonet Montrachet Lunch (Phoenix, AZ USA): Served blind, bricking showed substantial age but the fruit remains in tact and there's lovely spice.

March 26, 2016 - Lovely nose but fruit starts to recede a bit. Great wine but time to drink.

November 14, 2015 - Starts off with a whiff of sarsaparilla and some compost notes on the nose. It breathes up beautifully, emitting a scent of rose petals, sweet earth, cherries and spiced plum. In the mouth it is a little sweet and sour, like many '97's. There's good depth of flavour and it really builds through the palate fanning out at the finish.

November 15, 2014 - This has developed very well. Plenty of freshness, still some red fruits. Bit of spice. Singing. Much better than expected looking at prior notes - from a bottle I got at release.

September 7, 2010 - This shows decently but unspectacularly. Ripe, sappy fruit, but notably flabby. Darkish in color and lacking much charm or power but it has a some suggestion of elegance, texturally.
