December 24, 2020 - The wine looks brick colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle.
on the nose: Fresh red fruit, cedar, oak, vanilla, tobacco and barnyard.
on the palate: Stewed fruit, black currant (cassis) and cherry, liquorice, tobacco.
    The body is medium.
    The wine has smooth texture.
    The wine finishes long.
Amazing wine, was worried it would have been well past its best but has stood up very well.
Drunk straight from the bottle without a decant and initially was very closed especially on the nose. Evolved very quickly and within 30min was smooth, subtle and complex.
Great CNDP from a great producer.

April 21, 2012 - First bottle of this was somewhat underwhelming, so this one was forgotten about until today when I thought it would be well past its best and should be opened. However, this was a solid, if slightly rustic, CndP. Still some acidity and tannic bite, simple cherry flavour with chocolate and black pepper on the finish. Less developed colour than the last bottle, and a lot more body. Not bad.

September 9, 2007 - Bricking at the rim. Nose of fresh cherries, bit of farmyard. Light bodied, soft tannins. Stewed fruit, apricot, liquorice and a touch of black pepper on the finish. A little on the thin side? This should hold a year or two, but is likely best drunk now.
