Community Tasting Notes 7

December 22, 2023 - Really impressed by this. We weren't expecting much, but this is classic Alsatian Gewurztraminer. Moderate sweetness, surprisingly good acidity, and all the class Gewurztraminer notes on the nose and palate. A refreshingly modest 13.5% ABV, as well. Nice minerality on the finish. Really great for the price.

October 26, 2023 - Not bad for $20, as it scratches that Gewurz itch I sometimes get, but this would be better if it was a bit drier and higher in acid. Good length, however.

September 15, 2022 - I really love this wine and pleasantly surprised as to how forward it is at this age. Very lush and rich but so well balanced and presumably the acidity is just right. I would say there is so much to this wine that it will age very well and having been so disappointed with the 2018 it was very reassuring. Gorgeous and great value. (Still hate these new labels though. Cheap and nasty looking.)

June 12, 2022 - I am fascinated by the rather critical comments earlier. This is my go-to wine with cheese, and has been through several vintages. The off-dry nature balances so well with most cheeses. It really hits the spot, and the Gewurz taste is not remotely overdone.

April 9, 2022 - Good but too sweet, with less Gewurztraminer character. Somewhat similar to the taste of Shine Muscat grape. Almost as sweet as Moscato d’Asti.
