August 5, 2023 - 1996 Rhone and Burgundy (Bronte): Deep burnt orange colour .
Super ripe orange jam and quince notes, intense.
Sweet, botrytis infused, honeysuckle richness, has a lovely freshness that makes it very drinkable.

July 30, 2020 - Showing so much better than one I opened with friends five years ago. If a wine can be viscous, yet fresh, this is it. Super unctuous and sweet, with apricot and orange marmalade, quince paste and spiced baked apple flavors and aromas, the acid levels keep everything in check. In fact, there's really good focus here due to the fact that there were more passerillage grapes that vintage, in comparison to the more botrytis dominated '95 and '97 vintage. A gorgeous showing with plenty of life left and leads me to believe my last bottle suffered from cork failure. Solid A

September 19, 2015 - Chenin Fest: 28 Loire Chenin Blancs from 1995 - 1997. (Don Rice's.): I absolutely loved this wine on release. It had wonderful intensity, sweetness and electric acidity backing it all up. It's been at least ten years since I've had it and I was expecting more. I guess like many of us, it's gotten a bit soft and round with age and is not as vigorous as it once was. There are more mature apricot, honey, earl grey tea and marmalade flavors and aromas to enjoy, but there's also a bit of oxidation showing and while tasty, the wine lacks the focus and excitement it once had. Tough to compete against a memory of what was and higher expectations for what it would become. A-/B+.

June 6, 2008 - Tuscan tasting (Canan's place): Amber color. Aromas of oxidated, brown apples or apple juice and some caramelised sugar. Good sweetness, and lots of brown apple first on the palate. Good lenght, but lacking some acidity to balance the wine midway and on the finish.

May 16, 2008 - Loire tasting (Michaels appartment): Corked.
