October 29, 2022 - My first rodeo with this wine. I do have one that is a few vintages older, and think it is probably about the right time to uncork that one. This one has incredible structure, yet there is still a lot of grippy neutral oak tannin that really did seem to be shedding this one down. I probably tasted this one a little soon after the cork was popped, and did not come back to it. The bones are there! This wine is full-bodied, dark and hedonistic. Blackberry, roasted fruit, black pepper on the finish was just starting to emerge. This one needs time, but a great one to acquire for your long-term hold collection! Gaston!! The correct rating for this wine right now is NR. Potential for 93 to 95 points.
