Community Tasting Notes 3

November 30, 2022 - Smells lusher than it tastes.

    Black berries, vanilla.

Rich & ripe as on the nose with very apparent oak but it's all up front, the middle drops away quickly and there's no finish whatsoever, but pleasant while it lasted. Overall effect is unbalanced & hollow.

Next day the lush attack diminished, and the middle developed a powdery, drying, grape pip bitterness. The finish was black coffee.

Not convinced this will improve with time.

    Sainsburys UK.

November 28, 2022 - My second bottle, opened for gathering with colleagues, similar experience as before, a lot of baby fat, and very little intrigue. I use a lot of imagination to find again that hidden away lavender ... but honestly, definitely not my type.

June 11, 2022 - Violet in colour, baby fat a lot. Decanted 1/3 of the bottle through vinturi, revealing lavender and spices, but full bodied, too heavy at times. 88p. On day 2 slightly better, inky, again lavender, spices a touch lighter and better integrated, definitely better, yet needs more time to polish bits out. Label says drink within 5y, hardly to imagine, as now it's too young, and I believe within 5-7y from now will be way better. 90p wine, there is a touch of freshness emerging on mid-way day2 that balances the heaviness, so I'm optimistic here. Interesting and worth a try, (Sainsbury's offering £18 on the shelf, 25% off). Less than a quarter left for day3, pretty much the same, full bodied may be less focused but muscular none the less. Overall, too heavy.
