March 3, 2024 - Tasted on 2 occasions. Gassier has been producing excellent wines in this part of the world for some time now but misses the mark a little with this in 2016. A deep, dark shade of ruby in the glass. The heady nose is dominated by dark cherry, vanilla pod, blueberry, pastry, spice, raspberry liqueur and a touch of liquorice. The palate is equally bold and ripe but structurally falls away in the mid palate and lacks balance and complexity. There is still a gentle grip from the tannins through the finish and this certainly needs food to show its best. Score is objective but personally just a bit too extracted for my taste and the 15% ABV makes itself too obvious. Drink now and over the next couple of years.

January 26, 2024 - Intense, dense, aroma of anise, leather, blood. Strong tannins underneath. Delicious.

November 19, 2023 - Licorice, leather, plums with some acidity and mild tannins. Not bad, but needs more time to develop.

February 2, 2022 - Good value for the money.

Served with rack of lamb. Decanted for 3 hours.

Classic Rhone notes including, leather, blueberries, stone and pepper. Ready to drink.

January 28, 2022 - Pours a light purple, opaque with a pink/orange translucent rim. I let the wine sit in my glass for 45 minutes before drinking.

On the nose: this thing has the typical southern Rhone aromas. Blueberries, graphite, herbs, and a hint of pepperiness.

On the palate: black fruits, grippy tannins, herbs/garrigue galore with a chocolaty finish. Heavy wine with a full bodied structure.

Not my style, but a well made wine and worth it for those who want a red that packs a punch.
