September 3, 2022 - Yeah, another brilliant bottle, I really hit the jackpot with this auction purchase, level uppermost shoulder, long spongy cork but it still broke, lots of fine sediment, 3+ hours in decanter, which is necessary, colour distinctly brown but still vibrant, superb nose, really clean, quite linear, complex nuanced classic Paulliac nose with cedar, lead pencil, forest floor, palate also clean and linear, really fine, great balance, length and persistence, still remarkably vigorous and vibrant, a privilege to drink a wine of this age and quality

October 30, 2021 - Téte de Cuvée on the label, chateau bottled, level uppermost shoulder, excellent very long chateau-branded cork still in top condition, some bricking but colour actually still very much “alive”, nose with distinct sweet green pea character that progressively diminished in the decanter with 2+ hours, also minimised on swirling, not negative, in fact rather interesting (and unusual), with time nose really gained depth and complexity, lead pencil, cedar, just lovely, palate initially marked by acidity but this also came more into balance with time, very smooth with great mid-palate intensity, length and persistent aftertaste, this was a high-risk (though low-cost) auction purchase which for this bottle alone was worth it, hope the other bottles are as good, considering the rather uninspiring reputation of the chateau this was a real surprise, indeed Téte de Cuvée

March 22, 2019 - The cork had failed and this wine was oxidized. If you can find this with a better fill level, you may have good luck. I will keep looking.

December 14, 2018 - Decanted and drank over a few hours. A real pleasure once it had a chance to breath - orange rim, ruby red, some fruit still left. Cork had crumbled a bit and needed to aerate / strain through decanter.

July 24, 2010 - 40th Birthday - 1970 Vintage Tasting (Casa del Woodruff): Bottle #6. Cork looked solid, but refused to budge from the bottle, eventually coming out in pieces and requiring straining. A nice wine, but nothing spectacular. Still quite alive and vibrant. Dark burgundy in color, with raspberry and graphite flavors, along with forest floor and cedar components. Tannins slightly drying on the finish.
