February 5, 2023 - fully resolved and mature rioja, old leather and pipe tobacco, delicate and light in the mouth, just a lovely old wine. Finishes a bit quickly if I’m being picky

August 23, 2022 - Bought recently, from a different source than the last bottle. In great condition. Medium garnet colour. Red fruit, dill, coffee, light cedar, tobacco, intense spice, cinnamon, clove, vanilla, and balsamic notes, with medium-level acidity, fully resolved tannin, and great persistence. Smoothly textured and well balanced. Has everything one would be looking for in mature, traditional-style Rioja. Equally enjoyable on day two. Drink now.

January 22, 2022 - Aged Tempranillos from Rioja and Ribeira - Virtual wine tasting (Skype): Wine 5 of 6. Bought recently, from an untrustworthy source... Medium brown; limited complexity of fading dried fruit, dill, spices and balsamic notes, with an unpleasant aftertaste. Not pleasant to drink. Improper storage, from what it seems...

August 21, 2019 - Travel to the restaurant has done this no favours. Very fine, muddy sediment disseminated through each glass give this a subdued and muddy character. Very coffee ground and mocha on the nose. As the sediment settles slightly, though not fully, in the glass the fruit starts to show a little more brightly. Good acidity as one would expect. Overall, a muted experience though still plenty of wine here, just not as stellar as it could have been. Matches the grouse well though. ***

July 11, 2019 - Wines of San Sebastian; 7/9/2019-7/11/2019: Still with a bit of grip and life back. Dried fruit and decomposed wood. Lively on the palate. This one should be drank now if you don’t have a wine cellar with excellent conditions.
