August 27, 2009 - Crisp and clean but nothing extraordinary for me...

February 14, 2008 - clean and crisp but with odd gentle salinity.

November 5, 2007 - 100% Alvarinho (aka Albarino in Spain) from 30 year old vines from estate owned vineyards. This version is all stainless steel though they do have a oaked version. A watery pale greenish yellow color with a moderate nose of jasmine flower, citrus, and unripe nectarine. The palate is quite flavorful with wet stone, steely minerality, and citrus fruit notes. The style is dry, medium bodied, with lively acidity, and a long finish. This isn't your grandparent's Vinho Verde. Not as aromatic as lower abv mass produced versions but the bracing acidity make this a perfect complement to oysters and other seafood. Unfortunately most people think all Vinho Verde is low 10% abv, slightly sparkling, mass produced, and should cost no more than $6.99 at their local grocery store. This is a great example of seriously made Vinho Verde which should pair extremely well with many types of food. 4/5

October 7, 2007 - flabby and creamy - was this oaked? nothing special, bad value too at over $15

April 21, 2007 - Exotic nose, cross between a gewurtz and a viognier followed by a surprisingly dry and quite minerally taste. Interesting and good. First Avarinho Ii can remember trying.
