March 14, 2023 - Notes of cherries and cedar. Dry and acidic with a nice tannic backbone. Very elegant and an excellent value at this price point.

December 3, 2022 - Dark ruby with a rust colored rim and full legs. Nice nose of blue and black fruit. Same on the palate, great blueberry flavor, with some savory leather and vanilla. Soft, fine tannins. Vaguely reminiscent of a simplistic Brunello. Was pleasantly surprised, considering the price.

May 16, 2022 - Day three (!). Same bottle that was tasted and noted 5/13/2022. With about half the bottle left, and after ordering chicken parm from Nino's, I needed an Italian wine. I was expecting this to be oxidized, but gave it a taste. What a surprise! Per my 5/2/2022 note, this wine really benefits with extra time, leading me to think it will age well. Sangiovese typicity with lots of cherries on the nose, along with some earthy topsoil. Wonderful in the mouth: coating, fruity, good acidity, earthy and rustic, with plenty of tannic structure. Molto Italiano; great food wine. Incredible value: this wine can be found for $15-16. No-brainer case purchase either way.
