Community Tasting Notes 2

  • Vinus Silvestris Does not like this wine: 80 points

February 19, 2023 - Very beautiful bottle. A blend of grand cru gewurtztraminer and grand cru riesling from Altenberg de Bergheim, a muschelkalk terroir. 2.2% residual sugars. Beautiful nose injects hope. Mouth bland and far too sweet. No detectable minerality or anything, okay then there are ripe yellow apples. Disappointed.
Later note: Palate emerged like a gewurtztraminer, more flowers and fruit. Acidity backbone could be more present. We cannot feel the riesling component enough.

    Still disappointed, avoid.

September 24, 2021 - Excellent wine. Combination of sweetness, acidity and freshness. Not too sweet, long aftertaste of ananas and lichies. Great balance.
