Community Tasting Notes 7

December 23, 2022 - A bit confused about this wine. Direct from the bottle it was smooth and fruity, no abviuos acid and no tannins - almost like a simple zin… With air up to 24 hrs, tannins appeared and the fruit was less pronounced, but still rather boring. Hope and guess it will improve significantly with time (>5 yrs?)

August 14, 2022 - Appearance: deep ruby, violet/purple highlights, light staining, medium tearing, no rim variation, little bit of fine sediment.

Nose: clean, youthful, medium+ intensity, blackberry, red plum, ripe strawberry, red currant, bay leaf, violet, dusty earth, crushed gravel, thyme, pencil shavings, tobacco, cedar, smoke.

Palate: dry, medium+ acid, medium+ tannin, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body, medium+ finish, blackberry, red plum, ripe strawberry, red currant, bay leaf, violet, dusty earth, crushed gravel, thyme, pencil shavings, tobacco, cedar, smoke.

  • BilboBaggins Does not like this wine:

April 9, 2022 - The other notes so far suggest considerable bottle variation. Our bottle showed too much brett for my taste, which overshadowed the fruit and made it hard to discern much else. The funk lovers in our group liked it, so i will not assign a vote due to my personal prefference for cleaner wines.

March 28, 2022 - Very unevolved hue with purple tinge.
Intense fruit on nose, mostly on blackberry side with intense rose aromas.
No herbaceousness but bright herbal, savory notes.
The only reproach is a fairly rough palate, where the combination of acidity and fairly pronounced tannins create astringency.
Rustic in the best possible sense.
    Long finish.
    This wine will improve considerably.

March 11, 2022 - Nose: Musty grape stems, gross lees, ripe blue- and blackberries, rose. Palate: Rustic, tart raspberries; has an earthy savoriness to it; so well balanced with good acidity, firm tannins, and a weighty mouthfeel.
