December 6, 2013 - Grapemates Christmas Party (Atelier, Sydney): From magnum. Some funk/earth, toasty oak, spice and minerality on the nose. The palate shows some age through the rounded/rich fruit, but it feels quite balanced from the high acidity. Drink now based on this magnum.

May 24, 2012 - - Yellow color with fast forming legs and aromas of melon. It's balanced and has flavours of melon with a medium/full body. Satin-Like texture with a medium finish.

December 30, 2011 - I could not believe how god this chard was - it was so elegant yet sublimely rich and powerful - as others have noted previously this wine is very complex and very much like a Batard - I did not find this wine to 2003'ish but just plain rich and balanced - i think it has more life yet ;am now going to serve this blind to burg lovers - stunning that it comes from Aus but Cullen is not exactly typical Aussie wine

March 3, 2010 - Symmetry Dinner (Table 66 at 66 Tras St): Saline fishy salty and grippy . Has poise and a good balance of vanilla ripeness and bitter sweet notes. Wisps of smoke and minerality comes though. Excellent structure , perfectly drinking and very intriguing chard. I really thought this to be a good batard or chassagne montrachet. What a wine and what a burgundian styled aussie chard this is. Excellent!

March 3, 2010 - Symmetry Dinner (Table 66, Tras Street): Fabulous. Second time I've had a Chardonnay from Cullen, and I have been bowled over both times. Age has somewhat blurred the distinction between old and new world here, so this could well be a very ripe Burg. For one thing, this was a lot more Burg-like than the Corton Charlemagne we had alongside. Lovely nose, full of nutty, toasty scents, along with almond skins, a saline, sea-spray accent and some ripe yellow fruit all buttressed by some chalky mineral. Lowish acidity on the palate, but still very well balanced overall. Plenty of structure and grip too. Lots of richness here, but also plenty of layered depth, with sweet lemon notes, ripe red apples, yellow fruited peach tones and a bit of savoury button mushrooms. Finish had a nice length, with sweet flowers, slightly candied pineapple and some spice and mineral hints. A lovely wine, very full and complete, and extremely delicious. Drinking nicely now, but I can see this going strong for some time yet.
