Community Tasting Notes 2

February 2, 2024 - PNP.Deep crimson and purple color. Spicy and airy nose, black cherry, blackberry and spice. Interestingly I’m not getting any sandalwood and stems which I usually get with the Skyline Pinot from the whole cluster fermentation. Deep, ripe and rich palate, saline infused with a drying limestone/mineral driven texture. Austere but not silky like a Dujac might be, this is structured yet ripe CA Pinot with Burgundian tendencies.

Update after 3 hours, the nose is starting to show the stems, sandalwood and spice. But the palate is still quite clenched and packed with a lot of dry extract.

    April 30, 2022 - Yeah, I know it's young. Here we go anyway .
One hour decant: Ethereal, light, playful, early morning spring mountain hike. Warm day when the marine layer lifts. A bit of mint among the fruit trees. But a good wind so it just wafts past.
Two hour decant to finish: Oh here we are. Still beautifully restrained, but a more pronounced blackberry and spice. Rain through the redwoods. Milk chocolate and soft plum. Goodness this is a fun wine. But I’m gonna try to wait a few years on this one.
