January 9, 2024 - Instant new world nose. That tell tale hot, sharp, sweet liqueur-y thing. No depth. Easily mistaken for a CA.

Decent length on the finish, but it’s all alcohol on the front (despite the ‘relatively’ restrained percentage). Unbalanced, gloppy, alcohol heat, cloying, blocky bumbling fruit with no acid on the mid palate. Finishes with some interesting slightly sappy red fruit during its length, it’s only redeeming quality.

Certainly no match to well made Oregon and not even remotely close to quality burg. I don’t see age helping this as it’s plenty ‘open’ now and will only fade further into its unremarkable mush. Let down for the price.

March 30, 2023 - A seductive nose. Sweet florals. Recognisably Pinot Noir nose.
Berries/Dark cherries on the palate with perfectly judged ripe fruit.
Good bottle which is worth revisiting in the future.
Also compared side by side with Ata Rangi Crimson Pinot Noir 2020.

  • B Khor Likes this wine:

March 30, 2023 - First of all very similar to te terra 2020 - floral fruity nose and on the palate sweet, fruity, not too complex. I really recommend it to anyone.

December 31, 2022 - 2023 New Year Days in Hawkes Bay; 12/28/2022-1/3/2023 (Hawke's Bay): fresh red dark cherries, fragrant, some earthy mushroom savoury notes, fresh acidity, slight mineral, nice cream and vanilla in finish. Elegant and polished, showing some complexity. Very young.

    Ap 5/5, Ar 13/15, Palate 17/20, Overall 4+3/10
    Total 92+/100

September 23, 2022 - Simple, classic medium floral red fruit bouquet, approachable.
