April 22, 2019 - Significant fading. The nose shows aromas of leather, pipe tobacco, tar and dried red fruits. This is medium full bodied on the palate with excellent concentration and good class. Fresher on the palate than the nose. The fairly long finish features classy tannins. At its peak.

February 22, 2018 - Popped and poured - no decant. Drank over 2-3 hours at Charlie Bird. The wine was ready to go right out of the gates - leather, saddle, soy, nuts. Some minor bricking and lighter red color. Great nuance with good complexity and still a decent amount of depth. Not improvement from here - would drink this over the next 5-10 years. Compared to the 85 Masseria this is definitely showing its age. Still quite nice to drink today and no obvious flaws.
