Community Tasting Notes 9

November 22, 2011 - Holiday cheer at work. Wasn't sure what to expect based on previous notes but it was a pleasant surprise. Fruit forward and certainly moders, but well integrated and maintained its balance quite well. Some spice and pretty good acidity. Enjoyable, and a good example of Washington syrah.

December 9, 2010 - not sure what all the hype is about. drank two bottles and they were consistent. pleasant enough but nothing to writr home about. and, given the storage headaches created by the overthick bottles, this is a purchase i wish that i would have avoided. (0 views)

July 23, 2010 - This wine opened up on the nose but just drinks hot on the finish.

June 21, 2010 - Did not decant as long as would have liked. About 30 minutes. The wine is super dark with alot of dark fruit and berry. Could not really discern the finish. Seemed a little hot with alcohol. Drank after a Long Shadow sequel and just was not quite as smooth.

January 1, 2010 - Decanted for an hour. Rich, dark syrah with inviting fruit and very little spice. There was a mineral aspect on the finish that was appealing. Paired incredibly well with the decadent new years foods we enjoyed.
