January 17, 2014 - Pretty, enchanting nose of olives, black fruit, smoked meat, leather and mushroom. Palate has light-to-medium body with a lifted and ethereal quality. More complex, tertiary flavors. Lovely, elegant stuff. Really charming.

February 8, 2009 - My last of a little pile. Wonderful, eye opening, liquid, complex leather/earth interplay, fanning out into a bouyant inner mouth perfume, not over the hill, a sit up wine. A little lost in the final haze of the evening but for me an absolute standout. Not anomolous, just at the right age! A great example of the quality northern Crozes can achieve.

November 9, 2008 - This one the worst of the batch - oak still angular and edgy, imbalancing the fruit. Significantly worse than the others, which were nice. Lots of bottle variation though.

October 21, 2008 - Clear dark red colour turning to brick-orange at the rim. Lovely nose with perfumed aromas of leather, olives, earth and autumnal leafy notes. Quiet, subtle and rather light on the palate (only 12.6% alcohol!) with earth and leather dominating over faint red fruit flavours, bright acidity and smooth, well-integrated tannins. A lovely wine to drink over an evening with a good meal.

December 28, 2007 - Dinner with Friends (Our Place): Fully mature with complex aromas of leather, mushrooms, herbs and subtle dark fruits. Palate is medium bodied with fruit taking a back seat to earthy notes and lifting acidity. In a good place and an enjoyable 15 year old traditional Syrah.
