August 18, 2022 - The Mexican wines I’ve been drinking are interesting and surprising. I’m at Ranch La Puerta and going through their wine list with an open yogi mind. They are much better when served at the appropriate temperature, which they don’t do. This wine isn’t entirely balanced and is on the acidic side. I expect to taste dark plum, but I honestly don’t. Dark berries, chocolate, tobacco, and, at the end, raspberry. All with an unusual grainy feel. It has a lasting, pleasant taste.
