December 31, 2023 - Great stuff. Powerful nose of strawberry jam, worn leather, dusty herbs, clay. Palate is bright, big but fresh, dried cherries, tomato leaf, more worn leather, long tannic finish. Great balance, great wine.

July 16, 2023 - Intoxicating nose of spices, camphor, cloves and burnt cherries. Pronounced tannins, balance and power.

  • IJC Likes this wine:

June 2, 2023 - Powerful, assertive flavors, with a slightly charred edge - not burnt - in the spirit of the crust of a well grilled steak. Dark and mid red fruits, with a hint of pomegranate bitterness, very satisfying.

Paired nicely with a bolognese sauce over strozzapretti.

    Rated +1 on a scale of -1 to +3.

April 22, 2023 - Still young, the oak is prominent in this wine, but not heavy-handed. We gave it a 5-hour decant and it probably needed a longer one, as it continued to open up and broaden during a long dinner. I'd suggest waiting another 5 years to open it, if you have the patience. It's delicious after sufficient aeration.

February 12, 2023 - Dried cherry, nice tension and liveliness on the palate. Good structure and grip.
