August 5, 2016 - Aromas of dark cherry, spices, some forest floor and charcoal briquets. Darker flavors than I expected, that start with blackberry compote, blackcherry pie, dark chocolate, baking spices, a hint of vanilla and finishing with black earth and fireplace soot. Smooth texture typical of WA wines. Excellent, and probably has a few years left.

January 6, 2015 - I tend to enjoy merlot and merlot dominant wines more on the nose and this is no exception. Beautiful, big nose of brambly raspberry and a little chalk/rock. On the palate the fruit (minty blackberry /raspberry) doesn't quite match the alcohol and tannin (still a lot), but very nice. Would be fun to put against a similary priced right bank bordeaux in a tasting

August 21, 2011 - Color - Dark brickish red, clear rimage
Nose - spice, black fruit, some [light] wood, a little vanilla
Palate - Black fruit (black cherry or blackberry), light tannin, spice (maybe cinnamon?), reasonable fruit acidity (not quite old-world but good none the less) noticeable alcohol, wood on the finish, chalky texture in the mid-palate,
Decanted for 30 minutes, served at 70+ degrees with BBQ brisket1 person found this helpful Comment -

September 18, 2010 - WOW. Opened three of these for a college graduation dinner for my son. At the very front of the drinking window so I was a little nervous, but this wine really delivered. Even right out of the bottle, no time to breath, it showed nice tannins up front with a little fruit, but the finish was amazing. Some tannins that slowly evolved into a very silky lavender fruit, bringing a smile to the face of everyone tasting it.
Very ready to drink now, the tannins up front indicate that it will show some improvement for another year or two. Do not be afraid to drink it now.
