March 30, 2024 - Unbalanced at first, but after an hour or so opener into a pretty nice structure. Classic big, dark fruit, medium tannin, and you definitely notice the alcohol. Good QPR.

October 21, 2023 - A few months since our last bottle. Good colour. A little slow to open but the complex nose developed with time in the glass with fragrant dark fruits and hints of vanilla from the part-oak treatment. The palate showed dark plums/damsons with some blackberries but the fruit was underscored by acidity and leathery tannins that verged on bitterness when first tasted and even 2-3 hours after opening.
However this quite muscular tannin, together with the prominent acidity, made for a good food wine. Food (meat-based) released some sweeter plum fruit. Some time after our meal, the late palate remained a bit of a disappointment without food, making it rather an acquired taste on its own, but it improved again with cheese (and time). I don’t know if it will improve with further cellaring.
80 when first opened; 85 on its own, later, but 88+ with food 4+ hours after opening.

October 18, 2023 - A junior Chryseia in style but representing really good value at a quarter the price (bonus point).
Forward, for drinking over the next year or so.

May 20, 2023 - A year on from our last bottle and the wine has benefitted greatly from the extra time in bottle. Good, quite fragrant nose, dark fruits on the smooth palate and softer, better balanced tannins and acidity. Good on its own at this stage, and good with food.
