March 22, 2016 - Opened two hours. The color is still very bright red and quite translucent. Pretty stuff. The aromas are soft, without the angles of release. There's some cranberry fruit tones, but it's much more plush than usual for that fruit, light bits of flintiness, Palate is soft and still pretty bright, but without much strong flavor. Fairly compact right now, but strong acidity and tons of tartness builds. A bit thin in flavors, though. Similar strong acidic streak on the finish with bits of molten lava and minerality, but only the lightest hints of thin red fruit. I do think I enjoyed this better on release, despite it needing a ton of air. I should have listened to myself more in 2009 when I wrote, "it's drinking so well today I see no reason to wait." My last bottle was 6 years ago. Whoops! Revisited on day two and it was the same.

December 19, 2015 - Probably past its prime as its fruit was mostly gone with only sour cherry remaining combined with earth and spice. Light cherry in color, but missing the Fleurie nose. Still very drinkable and decent.

July 19, 2013 - Has some nice fruit and mineral-y core notes, but ultimately just too thin and shaky to deliver much pleasure.

October 8, 2012 - Silky texture, sweet cherry fruit, but really so insubstantial it seems pointless

August 14, 2012 - Reastrained and closed to a point where it makes very little sense to drink this right now. There literally is nothing whatsoever here.
