August 2, 2014 - Decanted 2 hours (+ sediment). Beautiful nose of red flesh fruit, touch of cola and bramble. Light stepping gravitas. An elegant lithe dancer. Loved it. (watch that sediment)

December 31, 2013 - Paper filtered and decanted leaving a thick sediment in the filter (and taking a long time to pass thru) and yielding a deep ruby liquor with slight bricking on the edges. This was a very funky bottle to start with - lots of barnyard which had to blow off over about 20 minutes. When we started tasting it, there were flavors of blue fruits, mushrooms, spices, wood and a slightly leathery aroma. As the wine opened over the next 20 minutes, the palate lightened and more sappy flavors of berries emerged. An interesting, atypical bottle of KW pinot.

May 10, 2012 - 2002 Oregon Pinots - Tasted Blind (Tom's house in Palo Alto, California): Cloudy red. Fantastic nose with raspberries and leather. The palate is quite soft with some fresh herbs. Tasted blind.
    My #1, Group's #3

May 10, 2012 - Blind Tasting 2002 Oregon Pinots (with pre's and Burg ringers) (Tom's House, Palo Alto, CA): Bretty nose. Light to medium bodied with medium+ acidity. Mix of tart and sweet raspberry fruit. Nice acidity. Tasty wine, just bretty. (my 5th, group's 3rd - Flight 2)

April 28, 2011 - Incredible balance, typical lighter style, but it still has body and fruit flavors; one of the better KW I have ever had and certainly the best these have tasted with this kind of bottle age
