Community Tasting Notes 5

November 5, 2020 - Wonderful Aglianico, full of vibrant aromas of rose petals, red fruit, earth and spice. Astonishingly youthful with freshness despite its age. Crisp on the palate with high acidity and tannins supremely balanced by the fruit. Medium bodied but structured wine, capable of many more years of development, as it now is nowhere near being fully mature...

October 13, 2018 - 8 years later and it hasn't really softened up all that much. Still coarse, ashy, rocky soil, dark fruit. Hard for me to enjoy alone but a tasty pair to some braised meat on a cold evening.

July 25, 2010 - Monstrously tannic, very dry and little fruit. Iodine and chlorine. Cooked?

November 6, 2008 - Ash, smoke, garigue, violets, blueberries, blackberries and iodine mark the nose. Tart medium weight palate with coarse tannins and long finish.
Tough love at the moment, but will be excellent someday. Hope I'm alive on that day.

July 7, 2008 - Did not take formal notes. Initially primary and grapey, with time opened up to show an complex array of flavors including crushed iron rock, blackberry worceshire sauce, oregon, white pepper. Nice palate with the typical rough aglianico tannic finish.
