May 4, 2024 - Decanted off sediment (unfiltered and unfined), carafed about 40 minutes because of some reduction evident on opening. Smelled red and black fruit, some pepper, smoke, vanilla; tasted the fruit and some caramel-type flavor with a little pepper prickle. Fairly big bodied and leans acidic rather than tannic, good intensity, and a medium fruity finish. Nearly a prototype of red wine.

March 10, 2024 - Let it open up. Still a tinge of green stem acid at the finish.

February 16, 2024 - This wine has roughly the same "architecture" as "Les Planels" from Maris in the same vintage, although this one is a bit more polished with the tannins better integrated - at the moment. The wine is a bit more forward and ready, less rustic, less herbal, drinking very well now - with some air, with less potential / need for cellering compared with "Les Planels". Both are well worth their price label.
    Day 2:
Lacking some "punch". Downgrading my rating to 88, as the wine seems to lack the more rustic, wild, rural, herbal, wild edge that I loved in "Les Planels". Simply not the same aging potential.

December 7, 2023 - Punches well above its weight, with notes of blackberry, black raspberry, black licorice, and tar commingling throughout. The tar notes escalate as tannins flex on the medium finish. Hints of garrigue too.
