Tasted non blind at a wine tasting.
Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of potpourri, cinnamon, berries and a hint of dust. Flavors of berries, cherries and currants. Medium acidity, firm tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink over the next few years with some air. -

December 1, 2012 - Needed 30 minutes in the glass to smooth out. Unfortunately, that is what it was - a smooth, somewhat bland red fruit with a clipped finish.

November 3, 2012 - Intense and a bit heated; earthy and spicy fruit; some blackberry, cherry and licorice; a bit harsh on the finish.

January 15, 2012 - I last tasted this wine almost 4 years ago and was impressed. Now, not so much. Still a pretty nose but that's about it. The fruit is fading and this wine is falling apart. Not at all enjoyable.

December 31, 2011 - this was thrown into a blind merlot tasting, and honestly i failed to pick it out. could blame it on palate fatigue, though i did equally bad on the prior blind flight with a fresh palate 'nuff said.
mouth - big fruit attack, raspberry, brambly long and acidic.

What Wine Goes Well With Birthday Cake. WLTV Turns, Episode #412, 2/20/2008 (link) 93 points(Mas De La Barben Les Calices) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-magic; beautiful baby strawberries; gorgeous black licorice; a plum explosion; some taffy/toffee; cough syrup; hint of leather strap; really exotic; very New World Bomb; TASTE-this wine is Rocking; reminds me of top notch $50-$75 CdP; this wine brings serious Thunder; huge explosion of fruit for New World fans, but tremendous backbone & structure ( w some pepper action and ham/bacon) for Old World fans; a perfect synergy; think of pigs-in-a-blanket w/ one more layer of fruit roll-up w/ a little black pepper; gorgeous; great length; huge mid-palate; should cellar for 5-7 years; this wine ROCKS!!;the strawberry jam is killing; RP-92; GV-93
