January 14, 2024 - This is my 2nd bottle of this wine. It is quite tannic, but seems to have good potential. It has lots of dark red fruits and some savory notes.

November 16, 2023 - I enjoyed this wine over several hours. While it certainly can age, it is accessible now. It has nice dark red fruits, strong tannins, and a medium finish.

October 9, 2023 - Nose: Barnyard, red and black fruit, oak notes (wood spice, vanilla).

Palate: Moderate VA, juicy red and black fruits (blackberry, raspberry), menthol, bell pepper, chalky tannins, chocolate, vanilla, herbs. Good value IMO.

February 3, 2023 - Deep ruby, light extraction, and moderate tearing. Ripe and fresh blackberry, black cherry, cranberry, bramble. Strong spice and pepper. Dusty, cedar. Vanilla. Ripe raspberry. Thyme, oregano. Tobacco leaves, granite, clay. On the palate, ripe and tart black and red fruit, crushed rock, earth. Some florals and spice. Leather, some oak but not powerful. medium-plus body, tannins, acidity, and alcohol. Overall, excellent for the money. Vary strong and rich. Acidity is balanced nicely. Long and complex finish. Will be buying more of these.

January 31, 2022 - Le Haut-Médoc de Haut-Bages Libéral is the Château's third label. The 2018 version is a deep ruby wine that is comprised entirely of Merlot. Loaded with red fruit aromas and flavors, it serves up a medium-bodied package of raspberries, Montmorency cherries, violets, graphite and nutmeg. With excellent freshness, well-hidden alcohol (14%) and appropriately proportioned oak, it stays solid on the mid-palate and concludes with a lengthy finish that carries some tannic grip. Give this a a bit more time in the cellar and it should reach a nice plateau that will last a decade or more. This particular bottle was Vinturi-decanted and consumed over two hours. Give it at least an hour of air if you decide to pop the cork at this early stage. Drink 2024-2034.
