September 15, 2008 - My first Dornfelder. A rich maroon color (which is the raison d'erte of this hybrid as I understand it). Floral nose with some red fruits. Smooth, lively texture with some acidity and strawberry, red cherry and pomegranate notes. Off-dry to sweet (9%). An easy light drinker that was a decent match to German sausages.
