September 27, 2023 - Lay & Wheeler South Africa tasting. Brief Notes: Lovely nose - black fruits and pepper with a smoky dried meat aroma. It’s bright, fresh, and light on its feet but good intensity of fruit throughout.

September 18, 2023 - Lay & Wheeler South Africa tasting (Glazier's Hall): Checks lots of the cool climate Syrah boxes: dark fruit, charcuterie, restrained richness to the red and blue fruit, no hint of sweetness, expensive oak. Luxuriously smooth and precise. Pure, clean and direct on the palate. Medium bodied with good length. Ageable for sure.

December 16, 2022 - Tasted after a 90 minute decant.
Medium ruby in colour with lovely aromas of sweet black fruit, herbal forest floor & a hint of oak.
On the palate, medium bodied savoury black fruit, boysenberry/blackberry/black cherry, herbal & slightly earthy, well integrated oak, chocolate, medium acidity, medium soft tannins with a long finish to sour cherry & black pepper.
This is tasty & well crafted wine!
Still terrific flavour on night #3. -
