July 1, 2023 - We consumed at Dad’s with marinated flank steak to celebrate Hillary’s birthday. The Star over-delivered once again: vibrant cab fruit, great finesse, awesome mouthfeel. This wine is officially an all-timer for NDA Napa Cab - wish I’d bought two cases.

June 10, 2022 - Nose: Jammy and sweet berry note, Quince an plum, baking spices and baked cherry. Palate: Glycerin and dense fruit on the entry and beautiful red fruit. There is a touch of heat here, but the luxurious layers of sweet berries, cocoa, tobacco and clove are quite nice. Finish: palate coating and lingering finish.
This hits WAY above its price point and has gotten better since the first one I opened. Compares favorably to the Realm or Bevan style where it is quite modern, but in balance.

May 27, 2022 - Nice bottle again and suffered a bit as a followup to a bruising (in a good way) Hall 1873. It is developing some earthiness with age but admittedly added an ounce or so of the 1873 to its decanter and would have added another point or two's it added depth and darker flavors.
