  November 22, 2022 - Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. 100% Piedirosso. Med ruby. Med intensity tart red cherries and raspberries, tart red plum, smoke, tar and a slightly stemmy note. Reminiscent of Beaujolais. Dry, with med+ acidity, med tannins and alcohol (12.5%). The palate is consistent with the nose but also exhibits a pleasant savory minerality and a slightly bitter finish. This wine does not see any oak, but has an inherent smokiness due to the varietal and/or the growing conditions on volcanic soil. It is light to medium (-) bodied and is great w/ food. It is drinking well now and should continue to show well for several more years.

  June 14, 2022 - Fruity acidic nose. Well balanced, nice tannins and fruit. Should improve for a few years.

  April 10, 2022 - I grade this wine high- normally a low level sipper this winery produces the top end. There are plums and fruit juice , soft tannins with some mushrooms. Versace in food pairing due to low alcohol. Tonight with spaghettini in tomato , basil sauce with arugula.
