Community Tasting Notes 10

March 4, 2024 - 2019 Dumb period? We had this, 2019 Abbott Claim Estate and 2019 Ayoub whole cluster pinot noir. All lacked fruit and brightness.
It was remarkable that they all presented similarly.
I would have doubted my own senses had it not been a group tasting. These are good wines that are not showing well right now.

November 11, 2023 - Fresh red cherry and cranberry, floral notes, a hint of damp leaves. Taut and somewhat linear right now, but nicely balanced. Definitely a food wine and improves with air and food. Very good with salmon.

August 19, 2023 - A little reductive to start, needs some air to open up. After that is was super fresh, loads of red fruit, a little earth and spice. Love it.

May 20, 2023 - Good wine, good balance, after having a really nice 2010 not long ago I purchased this in two batches from separate parts of the country. One group shows significant reduction and structure, the other is wide open with nice purity of fruit and delicious now. Fascinating.

April 14, 2023 - Drank over a long afternoon and evening.

Impressive bouquet from the outset, wholly typical of varities in place, and the Old World leaning house style.

Somewhat light on the palate, for the label. Yet, the wine shows a certain deceptive vivacity. All elements point to five to seven years of further development, with improvement likely. 92-93.
