December 13, 2023 - Grenache blind tasting of the world! Comparing Grenache from Australia, France, USA and Spain.
Order served blind was:
#1 Ochota Barrels Grenache The Fugazi 2021 (90pts)
#2 Domaine Giraud Grenache de Pierre 2019 (94pts)
#3 Cayuse God Only Knows Grenache 2019 (93pts)
#4 Alto Moncayo Garnacha 2020 (92pts)

Here are the notes for the Fugazi:
Very clear light red color. Nose is very light candy cherries, raspberry and some herbal notes. Palate is light red fruits, strawberry, red cherry and raspberry. Some herbs. Smooth tannins, easy to drink but doesn't evolve a lot over an evening. My least favorite of the 4 but still enjoyable. -

March 14, 2023 - Lighter in color, with notes of raspberry, cherry, and plum. Nice acidity and herbal back end. Fruit forward and very quaffable and pretty. 12.9% ABV.
