  April 15, 2024 - Ripe cherries and dark fruit on the nose, along with some woody spice. Very fresh and mellow, palate-wise, with red berries, lots of vanilla, and velvety tannins. Lingers for quite a while, though the finish mostly consists of vanilla and oakiness. Despite its moderate 13.5% ABV, the wine does feel a little hot, though not overbearingly so. Overall, it's well made and has aged gracefully. There is quite some complexity to the wine, some of which is due to over a decade of aging, but I don't think it would improve much with over the coming years. Drink now; very enjoyable.

  March 5, 2023 - Coconut, sweet tobacco, leather, savoury, touch of soy. Wears traditional Rioja on its sleeve. Ready on a PnP but improves over a few hours. 90-91.
