March 24, 2022 - Château de la Tour Visit and Tasting (Clos Vougeot): Tasted from barrel at the domaine. Ripe red and black cherry with baking spice aromas that are wonderfully enchanting. Sneaky power on the palate stays out of the way to keep this accessible and bright. Long finish is also bright and fun. Seemed more like Grands-Echezeaux to me that Clos Vougeot, but I expect that will return to form with time in bottle. Probably good to enjoy from 2028.

November 9, 2021 - Tuesday Burgundy Cellar Visits - Mugneret-Gibourg, Dujac, Château de la Tour, and Fourrier (Cote d'Or): Tasted at the domaine. So much more approachable than Vieilles Vignes. Not quite as powerful, but more even more alluring. Delicate and nearly weightless, in the manner of the greatest wines from Chambolle. 94-96 point potential, 2027 forward.
