November 21, 2018 - A second label for Tom Eddy. It's impressive for its age, but a bit past its prime. Still, a nice wine. Deep, dark fruits on the nose. Not quite as impressive on the palate. Blackberries, currants, the fruit is intense but lacks a bit of subtlety. Sharp tannins, decent acidity, perhaps a bit out of perfect balance. Moderate finish mirroring the palate. However with food the wine improves. The fruit gets brighter with more texture, seems better balanced. A bit of heat creeps in with more time in the glass. Not a bad wine tonight, but probably better 3 or 4 years ago.

September 15, 2016 - A magnificently aged 13 year old wine. Near black to the edge with purple bubbles and zero oxidation. Rich aromas, very smooth and caressing texture, all the acidity needed to be refreshing, all the tannin needed to keep the wine from being flabby, huge and delicious black currant fruit, fine secondary fruits of blackberry and black cherry, lush and integrated, with a dry finish and no detached sweetness. Will drink beautifully for at least another 5 years.

July 29, 2010 - PnP. Nice correct cab color not saturated but dark purple to the rim. Classic cssis plum and cigar box aroma. Medium weight smooth with just enough tannic grip. Sweet black fruit up front but not cloying and enough acid balance touch of herbs smoke and lead pencil to keep it interesting. Huge value and case worthy at $13.

January 30, 2010 - This last bottle is a stark contrast in fullness compared to the previous. The nose was almost an overwhelming fruit explosion, but it checked in about an hour after opening. Strong cherry and blackberry flavor and again, smoke and leather at the finish. The finish was still short, but the taste of the juice was quite good. Pleasantly surprised.

October 1, 2009 - Agree with the nuiances of the notes below, but not the score. This is a strong effort from Tom Eddy and a very good cab at $29.
