March 29, 2024 - From half bottle. Decent enough. Dark and red fruits with biting tannins. Probably too young, but still seemed a bit rustic to me lacking the polish that I have experienced with Duckhorn in the past.

October 22, 2023 - It was good but we drank it as part of a blind merlot tasting and this wine took second but it was the most expensive wine in the mix by far and it lost to a 12.50 bottle of Bogle Merlot. All that said it had a lot of layers, balance and good length. I am writing this a couple days later so can’t remember the specifics.

September 27, 2023 - Berry berry good wine. Yeah, low humor. But there are a load of berry notes on the nose, more dark/black than red but red currants do appear after 24 hours open. The palate is blackberry fruit and red currant with a very nice tannic backbone with excellent acidity and a little oak. Much tastier and more integrated flavors after 24 hours open. I thought it paired just ok with grilled ribeye with the fruit overpowering the beef flavors. Will improve with more bottle age.

September 21, 2023 - Its reticent nose to feature cherry, boysenberry, maple, and vanilla. Even after letting the bottle sit for 24 hours, the nose remained relatively closed. The palate delivers some of the sweetness promised in the bouquet, with modestly broad gritty tannins and juicy acidity delivering cherry, strawberry, black plum, vanilla, and tar. Straightforward, and error-free, it does gain some density with exposure to air. I’d wager this will be significantly better in three or four years.
