November 26, 2013 - decanted 30 min. red-purple, like a nasty bruise, w/paling edge; initially, pervasive barnyard (dairy farm, specifically), maybe a little bretty as well, which dissipated as it aired up to show lots of licorice, black spice, wet iron & pepper; med/+ weight; mostly anise, soil, iron oxide, blue fruits secondary, became more effusive & sweeter; not especially representative of my impression of the appellation, but very good w/the food pairing. consume soon?

    trenette w/provencal lamb ragout
