Community Tasting Notes 12

November 1, 2023 - Pear and citrus dominated, with a hint of oak and smoke. Upon opening, mellowed quickly into a well-balanced Chardonnay.

June 23, 2023 - Lots of lime citrus elements to start, followed by melon, pineapple tart, and a touch of orchard fruits. Shows plenty of brightness middle to finish, culminating in a fresh, lively, and satisfying persistence.

June 14, 2023 - More like a burgundy. Crisp acidity, some very nice buttery notes but on top of a very lean and structured, borderline austere minerality and citrus? Plus plenty of acidity for food. Probably needs more time to develop fully but certainly nice now. Needs to be much warmer than a refrigerator.

April 26, 2023 - Nice but hard to describe. Leaner than expected; good balance but very restrained. Maybe it needs more time? A lot more?

April 8, 2023 - I’m startled at how the most common tasting note on Vivino is oak. The wine smells of bright citrus: lemon or even lime. There is green apple and unripe garden berries there, too. Beautiful and cutting acidity on the palate with just a slight touch of lactic acid. But it’s so acidic that I could guess a warmer-year Chablis, not an American Chardonnay. You have to really look for the signs of malolactic fermentation here and a back oak on the finish. Taste-wise on the palate there are apples and pears with lemon.
Fantastic buy for $25 and I wonder how good it would be in a better vintage!
    P. S. With time lactic acid does show more and even the butter taste appear, what a Burgundian-style delight!
