Community Tasting Notes 4

March 23, 2016 - Ex Chateau. Perfect fill and cork. Splash decanted for 2 hours. Brick orange. Out of the bottle this is good, but it fades fast. Most of the elements you would find in a Bordeaux well past its prime. Emotional year so knowing the difficulty of the vintage, probably even getting the benefit of the doubt. This is just well past its prime and if you are drinking would advise to consume quickly. B/B-

August 1, 2015 - Tasted blind, this wine had a red/purple center with red/orange rims. The medium intensity nose showed burnt cherries and soil.

In the mouth, this showed medium body, good richness and some length.

This has an odd flavor profile and is going nowhere slowly. Drink up.

March 1, 2015 - Did not have high expectations for this, being such an off year for Bordeaux. The cork was fully intact and saturated up to a 1/4 from the top. On the initial pour the color is a lighter garnet with no signs of bricking. The nose was very muted with hints of dust, dried orange peel, and burnt toast. Let this sit for 2 hours and the nose has remained constant while on the palate this shows strong tannins, mushroom, dried orange, plum skin, and slight hint of menthol.

October 20, 2008 - Surprisingly bright disc. Paprika, burnt orange peel, creme brulee nose. Cigar box, chocolate, faded fruit on the palate. Maintained balance well enough, but very faded.
