Community Tasting Notes 2

January 13, 2024 - Preface that this was lined up with HL’s CM concis du champs (2017) and some GC Chablis (2014), which I don’t believe is entirely fair, but I always root for Niagara in a lineup despite a general inclination to burgs (afraid palate dictates).

Starts out strong with flinty reductiveness reminiscent of a st. Romain or st. Aubin, nicely balanced against fruit notes. Dusty stony minerality. It’s all there, it’s balanced. That said, length and quicker than usual oxidation post opening (honey notes) are to me, problematic.

September 1, 2023 - Delicous. Flinty, reductive, lemon, brown butter. Ephemeral. Sappy and concentrated. Super bright and persistent mineral finish. Plus acid, plus finish, plus body. The best Hardie i can recall, even better than the 2014s
