Community Tasting Notes 7

January 28, 2023 - Purple hue, light on the nose with slight alcohol tendencies. The first taste is mild fruit (searching for fruit actually), no oak, and a smoothness that probably is from the blend. Light structure with a mild finish. The alcohol and some acid were present, and only mellowed after opening the second evening.

January 21, 2023 - Not much there and Reidel glass didn’t help. I don’t think it will get better with age.

December 26, 2022 - I tried one 12/26-27/22. Needed at least 30 minutes of air and still was strong with acid. Not overly sweet. Seemed OK when eating cheese, but it needs to be consumed with food to counter-balance the acid. Not complex, pretty basic malbec-merlot flavors. Vacuum sealed the bottle and then aired it out for an hour the next night. Didn't detect an improvement.

I have a second bottle that I will hold for a couple of years and see if age improves it. But even at $7, I'm not inclined to buy more. If I'm only drinking one bottle a week, this isn't it.

    November 29, 2022 - Over two days.

A wine of the ever-lovin' earth! Sap, peppercorn, and coal notes throughout. Concentrated, structured, balanced...and wholly terroir-driven! The wine features serious acid and gritty tannins. The rustic side of Malbec, in fine interplay with earthy Merlot. Better on the second day.

November 27, 2022 - Night 1 - probably the 87 score. Tight, unbalanced. Overly acidic.
Night 2 - Certainly moved up to an 88 and rather than neutral I would say we enjoyed this wine. At $7 for a Costco buy it's tough to not really enjoy this qpr, will be interesting to see if another several months or a year or so will put this a touch better.
