March 4, 2024 - A full glass via Coravin, same bottle (my '23 note).
Took sips after 1, 2 and 5 hours.
Yes - it opened up, but I find fruit not very prominent, acidity was okay and to my surprise prominent tannin this time. Finish quite short.
Once more quite flat.
I do not have the most refined palate in the world, so maybe I'm missing something here, but I guess this isn't the wine for me. -

July 9, 2023 - Scent of blackberry and a bit of black cherry. Tastes same as it smells. Deep long finish, but better drinken fast than opened for too long. Think mushroom dishes would pair really well

July 3, 2023 - CMS Blind Tasting
Pours a clear ruby. Over ripe raspberries, over ripe strawberries (both are bordering on baked/stewed territory), black pepper, dried mushrooms, orange peel, olive tapanade, tobacco and vanilla on the nose. Medium + intensity of aromas. The palate adds dust and green bell pepper; but is overall pretty consistent with the nose, being mostly focused on the over ripe/baked/stewed red fruit. Medium + intensity of flavors. Guessing there's French oak here; but on the older side.
Medium body with medium + grippy tannin and medium acid. Finishes a bit short; which tells me this needs some time in the bottle.
Call - 3-5 year old Northern Rhone Syrah. It could have been left bank Bordeaux but I was absolutely not expecting a 100% Merlot right bank Bordeaux. Tough wine to blind. -

Fruit not so prominent, quite acidic, medium tannins. A bit flat, to be honest.
Probably should have given it more time to breathe.
Will taste again in '24.
