April 8, 2018 - A bit funky but likely a vintage issue more so than the bottle.

February 28, 2018 - Last of 6 and good riddance as old gold, POXED, though drinkable if with unacceptable sherry flavours, something good discernable deeply buried, a disgrace for 11 year old Chevalier! QG (14)..... only 1 decent bottle in this 6 pack!

October 26, 2017 - Zachys Capital Collection Pre-Auction BYO Wine Dinner (Fiola Mare - Washington, DC): Small glass, brief note. Very rich and ripe, while still firm and well structured. Very long, very powerful. Should hold well, but I understand this is another Niellon with lots of bottle variation.

August 17, 2017 - 5th of 6, opened 20 minutes, perfect cork and level, started fine with nice cut to underlying broad flavours, white peach, hint of the tropics, decent minerality, but within 30 minutes became lumpier and coarser and started to fall apart, ie 17.5 to 14 by the final glass, drink up !

June 30, 2017 - Chevalier-Montrachet Lunch (Phoenix, AZ): What trepidation when opening a Niellon wine... will it be prematurely oxidized, as so many are? The room was silent as the first taste was sampled. No premox, hooray!

When Niellon is on, it's ON, and wow was this great.

This is a very polished wine, with laser precision and ample fruit. Nervosite, precision, polish, those are the words that echo forth from this masterpiece.
