Community Tasting Notes 9

February 18, 2024 - Slightly darker, showing very good aging, some baking spice, baked apple, hint of nuttiness, perfect aged character, long finish. As there were only 2 older wines (this and a 1999) they sort of stood out at first for their age, but with a little time it's greatness showed through. My WOTN, although it was a tough call with some of the younger wines showing so well. Ya gotta pick one... 9th place overall so not a lot of people felt the same. Yarom DD blind tasting Crustacean.

February 8, 2016 - Casual Burgundy Dinner with Friends from Burgundy (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): In 00/01/02 vertical. Rich and floral start, even if on the mature side on both nose and palate. Seemingly freshened slightly once open an hour+.

June 16, 2014 - Paul Pernot Featured at the Lieu-dit Cru Blind White Burgundy Dinner (L2O - Chicago IL): Tasty, slightly on the lean slide. Good now.

March 5, 2012 - Darker in color than the 2000 Pucelles tasted along side. Riper aromas of stone fruit and some tropical fruit along with baked apple and spice. Less racy than the 2000, but still nicely balanced overall. I would say that this bottle was mature and was not going to improve with further bottle age. The 2000 did have a more reliable provenance whereas this acquired through auction.
