January 12, 2022 - Beautiful wine! Well integrated wood, eucalyptus flavours, dark berries very expressive. Great length, tannins have nearly dissolved, but fruit does not yet show signs of decline at all. Quite fresh acidity. I’d say peak drinking now, but will hold up easily for quite a few years. No bargain, but worth the $100+ price tag.

March 27, 2021 - Slow ox for 30 minutes. I bought this in an airport duty free years ago and forgot about it. This comes to life quickly. Full to medium bodied. Ripe blackberry, Christmas cake, smoke, herbs and spices come through. This has a sleek, modern feel to it but it doesn’t feel overdone and is drinking nicely now. Tannins are fully resolved but it doesn’t show any signs of decline. It should hold at this level for another five years.

October 24, 2020 - Screwtap, bought at auction, dark purple color, some gylcerine, doesn't look old. red fruit on the nose, red fruit on the palate, a big wine with soft tannins, more acidity than I'd expect in a 15yo wine. My track record with 15yo Aussie reds is hit and miss - I was surprised by how enjoyable this was. It was balanced with a long finish. I would have guessed ten years old at max. Very more-ish I finished the bottle on my own with Rana cheese ravioli and Sicilian pizza - a very unhealthy, but satisfying Friday night.

The $65 that I paid is much better than the average $124 quoted by winesearcher. This inspires me to look for other old Wolf Blass.

November 18, 2019 - 15 years old and no hint of age, screwcap closure, fine dark berry fruit, well-balanced acidity and silky tannins, but overall a bit one-dimensional and somewhat clipped on the finish. - 90 points

November 16, 2019 - Superb; dark purple color with a nice sheen; dark fruit nose, dark berry long palate; excellent value.
